The creation of the Youth Empowerment Project is dedicated to the memory of the founder’s former clients who all met tragic, premature deaths. The Youth Empowerment Project honors the memory of Calvin Duncan, Andre Butler, Martinez Joseph, Traydell Keeler, Wilson Young, Kendell Tarrie and Grover Arbuthnot. May their deaths remind us of the pain that lies behind us and the work that lies ahead of us.

  

 

In the aftermath of Katrina, this mission is now more critical than ever, and we have responded by providing a wider array of services to a broader cross-section of New Orleans youth to better meet the needs of our community.
