Trashanda is a native of New Orleans, LA. She attended Xavier University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Upon graduation, she decided to become an elementary school teacher. Trashanda completed an alternative teacher certification program and earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Xavier along the way. After receiving her Master’s, she moved to San Diego, California and attended Alliant International University, where she received a second Master’s and a Doctorate degree in Psychology. She returned home to serve her community in 2003
70 percent of YEP’s staff members are born and raised in New Orleans and the vast majority grew up in the same neighborhoods that our youth live in. Our staff members’ personal understanding of the challenges that our young people face make them uniquely qualified to provide support to YEP youth.
